Patients’ travel arrangements instead of expenses reimbursement: "Compliance, Accountability, Transparency"

Whenever your Company needs to increase recruitment and to improve trial subjects’ compliance, to streamline legal and transparent ways of patients’ expenses reimbursement or to assure that Sponsor’s money are used strictly according to its intended purpose, ‘Avistar’ is glad to offer its services.

We arrange ‘door-to-door’ Trial Subject travels from home or workplace to Investigational Site and back. Patients travel by taxi or public transport that has been already pre-paid by ‘Avistar’. Usually the cost of such round trip, including our service fee, is within average limits settled by Sponsor for compensation of patients' transportation expenses.

If a study-specific procedure requires patients’ travelling to another city, we provide a full scope of arrangements including, but not limited to: train/bus/airplane tickets booking, purchase and delivery to patients, arrangement of patients’ transfer to/from bus/train station or airport before/after visits, provision of meals and lodging, if necessary, arrangement of attendant, professional caregivers and much more.

Benefits:

• Patients in your studies will save time for travels and won’t choose any more between getting to work in time or visiting an investigational site within a protocol window for a routine visit, or won’t waive a visit because of money/time shortage;


• You avoid the complicated (and often inefficient) payment schemes, because ‘Avistar’ organizes patients’ visits to the investigational sites in your study completely avoiding cash expenses. It is important to know that payments to private individuals (in our case to trial subjects) are not foreseen by Ukrainian tax regulations;


• Cooperation with Avistar will be time-saving for your employees and for investigators. Taking advantage of many years working experience in CROs our professionals do everything possible to avoid wasting time of our colleagues – investigators and research associates;


• According to the SOP#013 «Informed Consent» (5.1.11. Cost of participation) of the Central Ethics Committee (CEC) of the Ministry of Health (MoH) of Ukraine that was approved by the Order of the MoH of Ukraine №142 from 22.03.2007 and the official Information Letter#6 of the CEC:
  
  

  "In the event that any expenses occur that are associated with clinical trial patients’ transportation to research site, special dietary requirements, etc., it is required to make provision of compensation mechanism for such expenses that must be covered by Sponsor (Investigator is responsible for provision of this information to trial subjects)".
